Cozy lo-fi beats wrap around meticulous sonic structures in wait for me, the soothing new EP by jives. The Salt Lake City producer displays extreme finesse in his first release for Alpha Pup, blending brain-waking cadences with a flow of calm assurance.

“Sometimes the best has yet to come,” says Jonah Brown aka jives. “Creatively, and in life in general, we experience highs and lows...and this EP is meant to help listeners reconcile those feelings through hopeful resolution.” Title track “wait for me” gives pause and provides a space to breathe, solid and sure. “Iron blossom” drinks in the moment and floats with a head-nodding beauty. From the slow rise of “summer’s gone” to the fluid ripples of “digital:awakening,” the wait for me EP foreshadows the future gifts that we can expect from jives.

“This EP is by far the most personal and creatively rich project I have ever completed, and I hope that others will be able to find meaning and hope through it.”
